A short documentary (featuring some re-enactments) revolving on independent filmmaker Simião Martiniano, a street vendor whose love for movies made him write and direct his own low budget films in the Northeast of Brazil. Here, he talks about his fascination with the art of movies and talks a little about his life trajectory, narrating some moments of his life, where he's played by Tuca Andrada. A few clips of his films are shown and Simião talks about them too.

While I'm not familiar with his work, the short film was strong enough to make me curious. The way Simião simply talks about his love for movies and also his effort in being a common individual who had the initiative and decided to make his own films is compelling enough to watch at least one film of his. Usually, I'm not much taken about inspirational stories, but his story was worth admiring, worth watching. Cinema is a complicated thing, and with the little he knew he could turn things around and bring his westerns and dramas to the screen. He knew what he liked and what he wanted to convey, and he had a public with that.

As for the short piece, just wished it'd be longer with the re-enactments and that the actors would be allowed to have some dialogues. Gladly, Andrada is such a great actor and great presence that even all his silence as Simião narrates his background was good enough for us to see. 8/10.
