- Narrator: Hmm, just what she's been looking for. He's no Gable, but, after all, a gal can't expect everything.
- Narrator: Before he married, he was so poor he didn't have a roof to his mouth. Kindhearted, though. He's just left a big ring upstairs for his wife - in the bathtub.
- Narrator: Here we see Gertrude, known to her best friends as Gertie. What with plenty of cigarettes, chewing gum, and liquid dynamite, she's as contented as a flea in a goat's beard.
- Narrator: She lets him do the talking. Which makes him feel that he's chasing her. Besides, if she opens her kisser, well, the scent of gin doesn't smell sweet innocence.
