Rolf Blomberg had already made short films for SF in the 30s and 40s from his travels to exotic places, when he was commissioned by Nordisk Tonefilm to capture an anaconda. The filming ran into problems when, for religious reasons, the photographer refused to film on a Saturday, and on that particular day they manage to capture the snake of the film's title. The expedition was canceled and the team returned several months later. Then you manage to get the necessary pictures with a new photographer. The exotic animals that were captured ended up at Gothenburg's aquarium.
