Homocide Det. Dana Plant interviews at Glenn Hall detective agency. She ends up helping Glenn to prove the poisoning of a client's relative. Just not in the way the client hoped. Manny and Roberta get the goods on a cheating husband.
Roberta takes on her first assignment and doesn't like the effect it has on her. Glen goes undercover in a open mike to attract the attention of a suspected serial killer.
Glenn is sleeping with a client who is suspiciously covering for a woman stealing from his store. Roberta refuses to let it go. Michael Bench brings in a client and even pays for him in order to get a rare win in the courtroom.
Glenn and Dana investigate an extortion plot to release an illicit tape of Sen. Lee Stevens while competing with an old rival to secure the tape. Manny begins to suspect his priest may have something to hide.
Glenn and Dana track down a client's dead wife's heart. He soon connects with the new woman who received it to the duo's amazement. Manny and Roberta test the dedication of a man's fiance. Much to Roberta's dismay, Manny crosses a line.
Glenn takes the offer to find a minor's birth mother, dredging up memories of her own abandonment. Meanwhile, Dana is targeted by a stalker with ill intentions which entangles Greg in the stalker's machinations.
A man wants his daughter rescued from a cult. Glenn reluctantly accepts the job which requires rejoining former colleague Gary Marlowe. The job goes wrong. Dana returns to the police force.
Glenn hates Christmas and gets hired to find a Grinch who has been stealing presents from a poor neighborhood. A man hires the firm to kill his wife. Manny takes the case and informs the police.
It's an earlier episode when Dana is still with the firm. A man hires Glenn to follow a map he drew under hypnosis. Roberta insists on taking a skip trace case despite Dana's objection. Manny is the muscle.
Caroline Beels is back. She has leukemia and needs her birth mother for a bone marrow transplant. Police mascot Sam Hoover is acting strange and Dana hires the firm to look into him.
The office gets trashed. Roberta and Manny suspect vengeful cop Sergeant Jim Houtch. FBI Agent Suzanne Shivers is coming after Glenn over Mike Johnson and his disks although Glenn doesn't know anything.
Suzanne Shivers is now with the agency. She and Glenn are hired by record executive Abby to babysit troubled star Janey Swan. Rose Carmody is the widow of the elderly tycoon who owns the Glenn Hall agency. She is battling her stepson.
