    Storyline

    • Trivia
The revival was first pitched to CBS in 1968 with Bob Barker in mind to host but CBS boss Fred Silverman rejected it, along with the other game show pilots the network is pitching, such as Talking Pictures (1968), The Joker's Wild (1968) and a revival of The Celebrity Game (1964) with Bert Parks as host. Instead the producers shopped to 20th Century-Fox Television with Jack Narz in mind as host, because Bob Barker was already hosting another syndicated game show Truth or Consequences (1950). CBS did not come back to the daytime game show business until 1972.
    • Crazy credits
The closing credits in this incarnation of "Beat the Clock" is known as the "Boss List". For example, executive producer Frank Wayne is billed as the "Super Boss", the Producer as the "Boss", the Director "Director Boss", et al.
