The Cerro Aspero mine, where Oro en las Manos was filmed, is located in the Sierras de Comechingones in the province of Córdoba, Argentina. With German and British capital, it extracted tungsten (or wolfram) and was active between 1895 and 1969. At its peak, it had 800 workers. Nowadays is abandoned and its facilities are used for tourism purposes.
