This movie is for me an alien... Even though I don't live very far from this village (Well,in fact Espigoule doesn't exists but it could.) I wondered for some time whether this film was a charge on rurality (in fact, my rurality), or the best picture upon the joy and casualness of a bunch of people living there.....And, after that, i think i'm still unable to pick one of of these possibilities..... But after that, i'd say that i rate this movie 8 to 10. This film is an allegory to (on?) being happy, maybe sarcastic..... In this village, everyone looks for happiness, not bliss, but just happiness. The bridegroom loosing a tooth in the morning of his wedding and scratching the ground in order to find it. In some places ,it would be a great disaster.....There, it's just a contretemps. WELL Where is Happiness? In this movie, the expressions are rather fit to french speaking people. Thou everyone should enjoy it.
