One of the enemies in the game is a giant plant that spits out exploding seeds. When Crash dies to one of these exploding seeds, he clutches his stomach, possibly implying that a shrapnel flew into his stomach. This can be a little disturbing to some.

The "Game Over" screen has caused a lot of controversy due to the screen having Cortex's head being on a black screen with a weird blue background, and him saying "Game...Over." in a sinister voice and giving a sinister and foreboding evil laugh. It has caused some players to get angry and caused other players to have PTSD.
Some VERY YOUNG kids may find the bear who chases you through certain levels scary.
