Two versions of the film exist. The 94 minute Italian version and the 88 minute English version. The English version cuts the entire rape scene of the protagonist by the intruder and makes numerous trims to the other sex scenes. Three shots of violence are also cut: a close-up of a stabbing with gushing blood, the aftermath of the body, and a shot of bullet squibs when the gunman shoots a character at the end of the film. The English version does, however, exclusively include two scenes totaling four-and-a-half minutes involving the protagonist's photographer friend and a model on the boardwalk.
