Plot

Captain Fandis Bastounis

Summaries

  • A compassionate captain takes a homeless stowaway in his house to live with his money-grubbing family; however, when he is lost at sea, they will rush to take control. But, is he truly dead? Can his "resurrection" force a change of plans?
  • Much to his surprise, the compassionate and recently widowed captain of the Greek Merchant Navy, Andreas Yamalis, comes face-to-face with an interesting and very cold blonde stowaway; the kind runaway, Marina. Enchanted by her gentle nature, Andreas will offer her food and shelter, going as far as to take Marina in his house where his sister and her two grown-up children already live. Of course, no one said it would be an easy coexistence--and when the money-grubbing family receives the terrible news that Andreas is lost at sea--they rush to take control. However, is the good captain truly dead? Can an unforeseen "resurrection" force a change of plans?
    —Nick Riganas
  • The merchant captain Andreas Yamali takes under his protection the female stowaway Marina Gianna. She is a nightclub singer who has recently lost her job and her home. He has her settled in his country house, against the wishes of his mean-spirited sister-in-law Vasiliki. She is a widow, and she long expected that her adult children would be the heirs of Andreas. She does not want him to take a wife or any lovers. Sometime later, Andreas is lost at sea. His will leaves provisions for a number of his favorite employees and for Marina, but Vasiliki uses a crooked lawyer to take full ownership over the family's estate. She proceeds to kick out both Marina and other people still loyal to Andreas. Andreas turns up alive, having survived a shipwreck. He proceeds to reclaim his property and to confront his greedy sister-in-law and her spoiled children.
