Lou Paloma's employer, "Zemeckis Pizza," appears on the back of his shirt in the opening scene. The name references Robert Zemeckis, an executive producer on Tales from the Crypt across all 93 episodes, and the director of the Back to the Future trilogy (1985 through 1990), in which Michael J. Fox starred as Marty McFly. Fox directed this episode and made a cameo appearance as the Prosecutor. The "Zemeckis Pizza" brand recurred in later episodes of the series, including "Undertaking Palor" (Season 3, Episode 6) and "Beauty Rest" (Season 4, Episode 5).
