A Political Cartoon is amusing if not completely hilarious

After previously watching an unauthorized Bugs Bunny cartoon called Rabbit Habit, I then had the need to see an authorized use of him in something made a few years earlier. Here, he's at the beginning and middle with Mel Blanc once again doing his voice after 10 years of not doing him at least not on theatrical film. The plot in live-action has a political campaign manager meeting a cartoonist at a late night laundry mat and teaming up to run a cartoon character for president which they name Peter President. While this was made during the Nixon administration, there's no attempt at topical humor, just the way some politicians avoid direct answers to any kind of questions and the way he changes certain attitudes. Besides some mixtures of animation in the live-action, there's also some mix of color with black & white, and some puppetry. Having seen this twice, I'll just now say while a little creative, it's also a little on the bland side because it doesn't seem to have a point-of-view concerning the political scene of the time which made me think of it as quite so. The Bugs Bunny scenes are the best ones but otherwise, they're more amusing than hilarious. In summary, A Political Cartoon is interesting and not much else.
