K. Balachanders's debut directorial one, the film lies emotion as well as an entirety in postulating an important thought. It is set up in a hospital, exception of one scene and song sequence the majority portion of the film happens in the 7nth ward of Balakrishna Nursing home. On the periphery, the movie talks about the life of a cancer patient named Sethu (Nagesh) and a leg fractured football player Arun (Gopalakrishnan). Sethu is a comical character, he always makes noises, always counters everyone with his spontaneous fluidity of dialogues only left few days in his life. On the other side Arun, a rich man, a footballer who completely passionate about football wants to play against Russia. But unfortunately, he is not able to do that. In the same way their lies a love affair between Arun and the lady Doctor of the hospital Indraja where Indraja is the daughter of the founder cum Doctor of the hospital, Balakrishnan. The film goes in a smooth way, covered with a lot of comical elements from Sethu and he captures the biggest portion of screen presence rather than the protagonist. His easy carrying comical counters flavored wonderful energy to the movie. The movie concludes while pointing out the easy goingness of romance or love affair and glorifying the duty or the service of a doctor have to be. It has a wide range of thought and that thought gave its attention at the end part. Apart from the subject, it is brilliant work from Balachander to deal with the story inside a hospital without getting bored. Nenjil Oru Aalayam was one other film feeling a resemblance to the plot of this movie. So old so good is the one thing I want to talk about Neer Kumizhi.
