Casper the Friendly Ghosts makes friends with one of the three little pigs, but his parents have the typical adult reacton. Yet when the wolf comes by (voiced by Arnold Stang doing a Bert Lahr imitation) they fall easy prey to the carnivore.

Given the invariant plots of the Casper cartoons, and the fact that the gags have become predictable to me -- although the Wolf's exit is a bit novel -- I have grown fascinated by the starts of these cartoons, when Casper abandons the the company of ghosts to seek friends. In this case, it's clearly a military cemetery, and the ghosts are called to their frightening duties by a military bugler.

Does anyone but me think that's a potential story point more interesting than watching Casper prove himself useful to the adults?
