Smedley the dog works for the head of programming of Station 6 and seven eighth. They need a new Saturday night show, so Smedey is ordered to keep everyone out while his boss goes through scripts and proposals. Smedley tries, but fails to reckon with Chilly Willy, who keeps sneaking past him to audition.

Willy never says a word. That's how he became one of Lantz' longer-lasting stars, by being cute, inserting himself to the discomfort of everyone around him, and generating some laughs thereby. This one pretty much lives up to the formula, with a few nasty things to say about television while it's at it.
