First, fair warning of bias: I am not fond of movies in which animals are wired into costumes for the amusement of people. However, chimpanzees are pretty low on my list of outrage, mostly because they are almost human. The adventures of Snooky, the cross-dressing female chimpanzee wind up being evaluated on its own scale.

If you like Snooky the Humanzee movies, then it's a good bet you'll like this one. It's the standard Snooky plot: Snooky dresses in handyman garb, smokes tobacco and rescues small children from evil adults. In this case, it's the cute twin daughters of his next door neighbor who have been kidnapped by the neighborhood villain for a "cutest twins" contest. There is a lot more decent slapstick here than usual. Absolutely bog-standard stuff, but decently performed. If you've got a taste for silent comedies starring chimpanzees, this is among the best, for what that's worth.

The cop, his wife and Snooky intervene, leading to a frantic chase.
