Not to be confused with a very similar Paul Thomas feature for Vivid titled "Lifeguard", "Beat the Heat" stars Deidre Holland looking very beautiful in a mood piece with just a few seconds of dialogue at the beginning as she takes her place on the beach to watch over swimmers. The rest of the video is lulling music and beautiful Vivid girls f*cking outdoors in separate vignettes.

Playboy Video at the time dominated this sort of VHS entertainment with an endless stream of softcore releases in this genre, and all PT does is add explicit sex. Of course, the all-sex approach has now three decades later all but put story-oriented porn out of business, but this forerunner seems quite antiquated considering the fact that its famous stars like Diedre, Danielle Rogers and Jennifer Stewart, made so many far-better videos at the time, often with PT directing.

The 2001 edition as a Wave DVD follows Vivid's pattern of cutting out footage for reissue purposes, getting the running time down to just 68 minutes.
