There are also a lot of gags about the characters getting drunk on pickled herring. Given the number of gags directly related to cruelty - as i said, there's a whip involved -- I didn't find this one up to the standards of the series. Although the technical standards of this black-and-white cartoon are up to par, this attempt by Lantz to set up a new cartoon star would be gone by the end of the year, to be replaced by the first of his new stars, Andy Panda.
