Ashlyn Gere shows why she was such a big '90s star in "Aroused", a very well-crafted vehicle directed by Bud Lee for producer Paul Thomas.

Unsung is the great scriptwriter Neil Wexler, whose sharp dialog for this modest feature is something of a lost art. Not only are writers usually dispensed with entirely in 21st Century porn, when they do show up for work the results are pitiful.

Gere is sitting around recalling a party she's been too when individually two of the studs who stirred her fancy show up and she gets to hump them. But what Lee does is to intermingle her fantasies with reality so deftly that the rather simple feature becomes fantastic. With cutting and very minor SPFX, one minute Gere is humping Tony Tedeschi and suddenly he turns into Buck Adams, the male lead.

I became genuinely invested into the two characters created by Buck and Gere, and by the finale when Gere and her nonpareil eye contact (plus nasty facial expressions) prove riveting the slight story proved to be well worth watching.

Supporting cast includes an amazing performer with an amazing rack Sydney Dance, who is listed in IMDb as Dominique Bouche and deserved far better roles. Tara Monroe is also uber-built and sexy, while Lee's better half Asia Carrera lends her loveliness as another Vivid contract star on call.
