my interpretation of the meaning of this picture

it's really frustrating having to watch a movie like 'Presents', because there is no storyline between the many images we get to see in many forms without logical narrative. or, shall we say, that's what mister Snow wants us to believe! I was frustrated at the beginning and really depressive at the end, but while I walked to the underground, I suddenly knew the meaning of 'Presents'. Snow doesn't mean he gives us gifts or something, he wants to show us something, to present us something. Than again, what does he want to present us? I thought about that one too, and I came to realize that 'Presents' is about the memories he has of his own life. now everything is obvious, I want to see 'Presents' again. Michael Snow is a master in experimental movies, I see that now. the two parts of the movie were absurd, but now they seem logical: the moving images of a film location in the first part show us real falseness, and the second part shows us hundreds of way too short flashes of life, but because they are edited way too fast, they are not viewable in a correct way, so the second part shows us a false reality. the faults and the reality are subjective as well as objective, because they are staged in many times, but they relate to each other by being the memories of the life of the director. he's a genius, making a film only about his memories!
