According to an interview with executive producer Damon Christian on the Vinegar Syndrome DVD release, several mobsters from Chicago, Illinois invested money in the film. Moreover, one of said mobsters was present on the set throughout the shooting of the movie and even threatened to break the legs of star John Holmes after Holmes accidentally set fire to the pizza parlor main location on the last day of filming.

The DVD box claims the film was directed by Damon Christian. In fact, Bob Chinn is listed in the film's credits as being the sole director of Pizza Girls. Damon Christian Productions is one of the production companies.
