      Billy Crystal was inspired to write this film from having worked with André René Roussimoff in the The Princess Bride (1987). Max's line about loving to work with animals because they don't look twice at him is taken directly from a conversation between André and Billy. Crystal reiterated this conversation in a behind-the-scenes featurette years later.
