      This tele-movie was made and released about four years after its source play of the same name by Neil Simon was first performed in 1992. The Broadway production of "Jake's Women" opened at the Neil Simon Theatre in New York on 24th March 1992 and ran for 245 performances until the 25th October 1992. Joyce Van Patten and Alan Alda reprised their stage roles in this filmed version, the latter had been Best Actor Tony Award nominated for his Broadway performance. The play's setting is described in the play's intro as being "In Jake's apartment in Soho and in his mind".
