The game was initially planned as an interactive movie for the Jaguar CD, which was a console add-on for the Atari Jaguar. Due to the Jaguar CD's poor sales, the release of the game was canceled. About a year later, director
Jeff Burr shot additional footage to make a full movie out of it. However, the film negatives were severely damaged during the cutting process, which led to the producers taking an insurance settlement and a cancellation of the project. Years later, development of the game was continued by restoring the footage and adding additional material, including new voiceover work by
Timothy Bottoms. The game was eventually released in November 2021 for PC and modern game consoles.
