Albert Pyun's original vision and idea for Nemesis 4 was originally nothing like the finished product and was to have followed the previous two installments more directly, but was changed due to insufficient video sales of Nemesis 3: Time Lapse (1996).

Alternate versions
German VHS release by Highlight Video is heavily edited by 5 minutes to remove or reduce sexual violence moments. Every other release in Germany whether the Astro Distribution Laserdisc, the Laser Paradise DVD, or the VZ Handels Blu-ray are all completely uncensored.
