- TriviaAccording to Sylvester Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger tricked him into doing the movie by faking interest in it, as part of their friendly (but sometimes unfriendly) rivalry in the 1980s and early 1990s. Schwarzenegger admitted in an interview that he had read the script first, and felt it was "a piece of shit", so he declined. It was then offered to Stallone, who called Schwarzenegger to ask him if he was ever approached for it. Schwarzenegger called the film "a really brilliant idea", and told him that he was thinking about doing it: "When [Stallone] heard that, because he was in competition, he said, 'Whatever it takes, I'll do the movie.'" Stallone wasted no time in calling his agent to get him in the film, which became a major critical disaster that won three Razzie Awards, including one for Stallone as Worst Actor.

- Alternate versionsThe original UK cinema version was cut by 6 secs by the BBFC to remove shots of a man's hand being crushed in a door and to edit the sounds of a man's scream and crash as he is thrown from a window. All video releases were uncut.
