I say no. The book claims Evelyn finds the jar of honey on Ruth's grave AFTER Ninny died. The movie changed the ending a bit. Also Ninny wears a wedding ring (she even said that she married Cleo Threadgoode. That's Idgie's brother.) and told the story about having a mentally defective baby that she kept even though doctors told her to institutionalize him. She cared for him for 30 years. In the movie, Idgie did not marry, nor have any children.
