    • Trivia
The "Hothouse" documentary was released by local Nashville producer and film maker Tom Neff in association with the Tennessee State Museum just prior to the opening of one of the largest exhibits ever attempted by the museum in 1986. The exhibit featured the life's work of former Nashville native and multimedia artist, Red Grooms. Hundreds of unusual art pieces were placed on display in a huge Nashville exhibit space, some pieces weighing only ounces, and one weighing in at over 2000 pounds of solid brass. In keeping with the unusual art techniques of Grooms, an entire theater space was built and decorated by Grooms and his staff using an ancient Egyptian motif to accommodate the daily showing of the documentary in the exhibit space. The TSM Exhibits Department of the museum projected the motion picture daily in this unusual environment at lunch time for the entire run of the Grooms exhibit.
