- Hamish: [presenting Lucy, a snake, with snake food] Here's some extra, Lucy, because you missed lunch. It's not my fault we were out searching.
- Wagstaff: [reading an animal encyclopedia] Just as I thought: those were Fluppies!
- [flipping the pages of his encyclopedia]
- Wagstaff: Hamish, see if the police have gotten any reports yet.
- [reading the fluppies entry]
- Wagstaff: "A mythical beast able to speak like humans, from a land of snow and colorfully lighted skies"!
- [laughs]
- Wagstaff: Mythical, my foot!
- [speaking to an imprisoned platypus]
- Wagstaff: They thought *you* were mythical once.
- [turning to Hamish]
- Wagstaff: Get the nets; we're going to scour the city!
- Hamish: [as Lucy starts to choke him around his neck and shoulders with her tail; he strains] Be right--there--sir!
- Wagstaff: [opening a door to reveal a great hallway] The world's finest collection of exotic animals, and now--FLUPPIEEES!
- Wagstaff: [in his car, on the phone] If they give us trouble, buy them out.
- [covering the mic with his hand]
- Wagstaff: Hamish, what's the hold-up?
- Hamish: Uh, looks like dogs loose on the street, Mr. Wagstaff.
- Stanley: [jumping onto the car hood and calling to the others] This way!
- Wagstaff: That dog talked!
- [getting out of the car, accidently hitting a policeman, then pulling him up by his collar]
- Wagstaff: That dog talked!
- Wagstaff: [he and Hamish have arrived at the animal shelter to try to capture the remaining Fluppies for their collection] Let me in!
- Hamish: I--think the pound is closed, sir.
- Wagstaff: *Closed*?
- [he dashes back to the car]
- Hamish: If only the police had called sooner.
- Wagstaff: Closed?
- [getting back in the car to call up the mayor to open the pound]
- Wagstaff: Not with my Fluppies inside.
- [closing the car door, then calling the mayor]
- Wagstaff: Hello, get me the mayor.
- [short pause]
- Wagstaff: What? Then get him out of bed! This is J.J. Wagstaff calling!
