Shortly after the TV premiere, several organizations labeled it as the most violent show on television and Jamie Rose was strongly criticized by her "trigger happy" personality of her character, Katy Mahoney, cataloged as "a fiery red-haired" by the media to the point to nickname her as "Dirty Harriet" because Clint Eastwood's famous detective Harry Callahan in Dirty Harry (1971). ABC moved the series from Thursdays to Saturdays to avoid controversy, but it was finally canceled in early 1986 after its negative reception in the audience, due to the complaints about excessive violence. However, television studies author Cary O'Dell questions if that was result from the contemporary sexism.
