Companion piece to 'A Woman's Torment' but needs to be restored

Low-key drama from Roberta Findlay filmed in the same location and sharing many of the same cast and themes from her psychological slasher 'A Woman's Torment' (1977), pocket rocket Beth Anna (who starred in 'Sweet Savage' 1979) co-stars as a young sex worker telling her client the story of how she ended up pulling tricks in a dirty hotel room after being raised by her older sister (Crystal Sync) following the death of her parents.

Although this extremely well acted, photographed and paced drama is told from the perspective of Beth Anna's character, it's essentially the story of a turbulent, deteriorating marriage between Sync (who is arguably the real star of the movie) and lawyer husband played by Robert Kerman (a real life couple at the time just prior to Kerman finding a measure of success in mainstream movies and television) and the effect it has upon her younger, virginal sister (Beth Anna) who ultimately bears the brunt of the fallout in a scene which has inexplicably been omitted from subsequent releases of the film (though it's still possible to glean what's occurred).

Glamorous Marlene Willoughby also appears in a cameo as one of Kerman's legal clients.

Makes an ideal companion piece to 'A Woman's Torment' (1977) albeit with a different kind of twist in the tail, one which you'll either appreciate for its simplicity or perhaps deride as deceptive and disingenuous. Either way it's still an accomplished filmmaking effort, one of Findlay's better solo efforts in my opinion.
