Garson Hobart
- Garson Hobart: I was having the wildest dream.
- Norman Chambers: Will you please hurry?
- Garson Hobart: I was having lunch with Robert Redford at the Brown Derby. Let's see, he had the carrot salad and I had on this big pink bunny suit.
- Garson Hobart: I make a darned good first impression. The Manager of the A&P told me I had charisma.
- Norman Chambers: You're loaded with charisma, Garson. I just don't want my father to see it right now.
- Garson Hobart: Oh, I know I'm having a nightmare. Any minute now, I'm going to wake up and be sound asleep again. *Please* God, let this be a nightmare.
- Norman Chambers: Get dressed and get outta here!
- Garson Hobart: She's not listening...
- Norman Chambers: Garson, Dad's going to be staying here a few days.
- Garson Hobart: Fabulous! Mr. Chambers, let me plan your itinerary. There's so much to see. There's Disneyland and Grauman's Chinese Theater, the Hollywood Wax Museum, the Queen Mary. You are going to *love* L.A. It's just full of surprises. Well, just look in any closet.
- Ben Chambers: Hey, wait a minute! Wait a minute! Hold on. You're taking Norman's girlfriend's dress.
- Garson Hobart: I - am she.
- Ben Chambers: [shocked] Eh? Eh?
- Garson Hobart: I'm great at parties. That's where I really shine. Ask Normie.
- Ben Chambers: Stop calling him Normie! It's *Normal*, eh, I mean Norman. M-A-N, as in *man*.
- Garson Hobart: He took his mother to the prom? Oh, why didn't I think of that. I stayed at home and cried.
- Garson Hobart: Do you realize what you're doing to me, Mr. Chambers? It's exactly what they did in "Romeo and Juliet."
- Ben Chambers: You mean "Romeo and Romeo" - you cream puff!
- Ben Chambers: Garson, I need your help.
- Garson Hobart: For what?
- Ben Chambers: You gotta help me get rid of you.
- Garson Hobart: What did you do to him?
- Ben Chambers: I did what any father would do in a situation like this. I got him a girl.
- Garson Hobart: A what?
- Ben Chambers: A girl! A woman. You know, they have high voices and they're lumpier than we are.
- Ben Chambers: You're some fancy cook. What do you call this stuff?
- Garson Hobart: Prune Flambé Surprise.
- Ben Chambers: Prune Framblé Surprise.
- Garson Hobart: Flambé
- Ben Chambers: Flam - flam - flambé.
- Garson Hobart: Flambé.
- Ben Chambers: Framblé.
- Garson Hobart: Flambé.
- Ben Chambers: Prune Flambé Surprise.
- [belches]
- Ben Chambers: Pardon me. I'll have to remember that.
- Garson Hobart: Take it from me, Mr. Chambers, every family has its problems. I have a brother who married a Filipino.
- Ben Chambers: A boy or a girl?
- Garson Hobart: That's very funny. But, it almost killed my mother.
- Ben Chambers: Well, why should she be upset about that?
- Garson Hobart: Well, it's her one hang-up. She was once molested at a luau.
- Garson Hobart: I tell you, Adele, you are absolutely going to adore Normie's father. He's - uh - he's fabulous! He's - uh - I don't know how to describe him. He's sort of a cross between Muhammad Ali and Stan Laurel.
