Great supporting cast features the beguiling Angel Tompkins playing Don Galloway's impatient mistress as he anxiously schemes a way in which to rid himself of his wealthy betrothed (Anderson) but not her trust fund.

Galloway's character just keeps digging that hole ever deeper, the plot tightening like a noose around his neck keeping the audience on edge, anxious to see how deep the deceit will descend before someone eventually yields.

The performances are first rate for the material; I initially thought Galloway might be overplaying the part but it's an appropriate chord for a deeply insecure man who feels emasculated by his wife's inherited wealth, Anderson no slouch as his too-trusting wife and Anne Schedeen cameos as her girlfriend who convinces Anderson's character to dig in, which she does in more ways than one. Walter Pidgeon also makes a brief appearance further tightening the screws.

Finely balanced with a ripper climax that's tense, suspenseful and worthy of a second viewing, an overall outstanding teleplay.
