The title "Will the Real Jerry Lewis Please Sit Down" is a play on words taken from the famous phrase from the game show "To Tell the Truth", where contestants are presented with three people (one the actual person and two fakes) and a short description of the person that they have to find out who it actually is, by deduction through asking questions. At the end of the round, and the contestants give their choice for the actual person, the moment of truth would arrive as the host would say "Will the real (insert name here) please stand up", and the person in question would reveal their identity to the audience.
