I remember watching this on a Saturday after my shift ended, back when I had just started working from home. I got off at 3pm, previously 5:30. That was early enough to go out, but I didn't feel like dealing with the crowds in stores. Now I'm used to going out on Saturday, but at that time, I felt like people were extra rude on the weekend, so I preferred to stay in the house after working. But since I would often find myself just moping around, I wanted to make a habit out of finding something to watch on my laptop. I found Ringo's Big Night on YouTube, and I didn't expect to get absorbed in it the way I did. It made me realize that I love spaghetti westerns. Stylistically, they're more intriguing compared to generic westerns. The camera angles, dialogue, and overall grittiness make it so easy to get lost in the stories. American cowboy films were overly romanticized, and the characterizations were too simplistic. The cast of spaghetti westerns was also more diverse. Instead of having a predominantly or all-white ensemble, there was a combination of Italian, Hispanic, and sometimes black actors/extras. I feel like American westerns perpetrated false narratives and historical inaccuracies. Watching as a person in the 21st century, spaghetti westerns don't have such an outdated feel, so they're my go-to when I want a break from the crime and mysteries.

Ringo's Big Night opens with stagecoaches have been getting robbed between two communities, Silver City and Tombstone. Whoever is committing the crime stole $200,000 that was sewn into a banker's clothing, the person who was transporting the money. Jack Balman (William Berger) has been labeled a suspect and put in jail with another man whose arm is broken. The two make an agreement: Jack breaks out of jail, goes to Tombstone, locates the $200,000, and when he returns they'll split the money. It moves a little slow at times, but overall it's climactic. I could watch it again, honestly. The plot might be weak for some people, but I thought it was an action packed film. If you haven't already seen it, I would suggest checking it out - it's really not bad enough to listen to the negative reviews.
