When Charlie (James Booth) sees Maggie's (Barbara Windsor) baby in the pram he says "Look at that expression, that is definitely my baby". He's telling the truth as it is his own daughter Sarah (Sarah Booth).

It was alleged that the Kray Twins were extras in this film, but this is untrue. However one of their bodyguards and club bouncers, Pat Connolly (aka Big Pat), appears in a scene at the Flamingo Club. In an interview that Barbara Windsor and Murray Melvin gave for the British Film Institute in 2015, they mentioned that the Kray Twins did turn up during filming, persuading local residents to co-operate with the filming.
As befits its setting, this film had an East End premiere rather than a West End one. The premiere took place at the ABC cinema. Mile End Road on Tuesday February 26th 1963 and should have been attended by HRH Princess Margaret and her husband the Earl of Snowden. Unfortunately, Princess Margaret went down with the flu and so Lord Snowden attended on his own. The West End premiere run began on the following Thursday at the Rialto cinema, Coventry Street.
