The "derby" Gene Barry wears is incorrect. Photos of the real Bat Masterson reveal that the brim on Gene's hat is too large. They tried to roll the sides more to make it seem smaller, but it still just looks like any old cowboy hat with a rounded crown. Actually, Gene Barry wears two different hats. The large one with the mild curl he uses when he's in his trail clothes. When he's in his "fancy" dress, he has a correct tightly curled bowler.
