Early Spanish prison movie in American style including thrills, escapades, pursuits and violence

It deals with a just married couple called Clint : Richard Morse and Katty : Mabel Karr spending the honeymon at a beach location. Newlyweds enjoying the vacation when the beloved wife suffers suddenly a serious sickness. Then husband Clint goes to the nearly town called Swift Water to look for a doctor. Throught the road he is surprisingly assaulted by some young delinquents : Carlos Ballesteros, Mara Goyanes . Without any funds he decides to take coercily the medicine from the pharmaceutic, threatening him by simulating to wield a gun but promising to refund it. Then, Clark is trapped, and incarcerated, being judged, and is condemned for armed robbed to nine-year prison. As he is imprisoned at White Cloud, a hard prison camp commanded by a ruthless warden chief called Captain Clark : Adolfo Marsillach.

Stars the unknown American Richard Morse who had a brief career especially in TV series and Mabel Karr who married the famous actor Fernando Rey. Here stands out Adolfo Marsillach playing a cruel warden who mistreats and tortures his prisoners and he will stop at nothing to chase the escaped inmates. They are well accompanied by a fine support cast, such as : Antonio Jimenez Escribano, Carlos Ballesteros, Luis Morris, Rufino Ingles, Enrique Avila, among others.

It contains an appropriate cinematography in black and white by Antonio L Ballesteros. As well as atmospheric and thrilling musical score by Miguel Asins Arbo. Being shot on various locations in Villaviciosa de Odon, Colonia Mirasierra, Madrid, and Marbella, Malaga. The motion picture was professionally directed by Jose Maria Forque and was winner Sant Jordi Award 1960, Best Spanish Director. Jose Maria Forque was a craftsman who directed all kinds of genres as Comedy : Un Millon en la Basura, La vil seduccion, Bring a Little loving, Vacaciones para Ivette . His greatest succeses were : Embajadores en el Infierno, Amanecer de la Puerta Oscura and the clasic comedy : Atraco a las 3. And he also made important TV series as Miguel Servet and Ramon y Cajal.
