Night Freight is a much better thriller than you would expect from a low budget production like this. Not only a good plot but very well cast.

The romantic triangle between Forrest Tucker, Barbara Britton and Keith Larsen is very believable although the plot device of having her willing to become housekeeper for the two bachelors is a bit much.

Barbara Britton is an actress who became more and more beautiful as she aged and she is not only strikingly lovely here but gives an admirable performance.

The plot moves quickly toward an expected train crash and keeps you guessing whether Tucker can stop it in time.

There's also good support from the always reliable Thomas Gomez and Myrna Dell.

I found this more interesting than a lot of expensively produced "A" thrillers and Jean Yarbrough's workman like direction may have a lot to do with it.

Well worth watching.
