Goofs
The film was made in 1942 but is obviously meant to take place before the war. For example,
No blackout curtains on windows, needed when there was the threat of air raids.
No mention of ration books when Smith is working as a fishmonger/ poulterer.
No restriction on travel e.g. the real and false Fortesques are able to travel back to the UK with no problems.
The real Captain Fortesque would be travelling in uniform.
