I liked this one...the public apparently didn't.

"Way Back When Women Had Their Weigh" is the first of a dozen Stone Age cartoons from the Fleischer studio. These cartoons are Flintstone-like but were made two decades earlier. And, because they came from the Fleischers, the animation quality is exceptional...though, oddly, they still were making black & white cartoons during this time when most other studios were making them in color.

A chubby cave man sees a pretty cave girl singing...and he's smitten. But he worries that he's fat...and she is singing about having a thin man. So, he rushes to a health spa to lose weight...where they essentially torture the poor guy until he's skinny!

Overall, I really liked this cartoon. The animation quality, despite being black & white, is very good and the cartoon ended with a funny moment. Sadly, however, the public never took to the series and by 1941 the studio was on to other projects.
