The New Pupil

Debut of Billy 'Froggy' Laughlin. He would remain with the series until its demise in 1943 (final entries released into 1944).

As the class is having an American History lesson, the teacher and Alfalfa (The one in the dunce cap!) are seen in front of a chalkboard where a replica of the first American flag has been drawn, along with important facts about the flag, including its traditional creator, Betsy Ross. One item states that the 13 stars in the field at upper left represent the 13 original colonies, and there is even an arrow pointing to that portion of the flag. However, there are only 12 stars in the drawing.
