"The Clown's Pups" is one of the first Koko the Clown cartoons. I was surprised when it began as Koko was drawn very differently than I was used to seeing. He was far less cute and cartoony here...and even a bit creepy! I can see why they retooled his character in subsequent films.

Koko draws himself a dog...and soon the dog gets into a fight with other dogs. And, to get away from this chaos, Koko grabs his dog and jumps back into his inkwell where he lives.

This one just isn't all that funny. It is creative and worth seeing...but compared to later ones it comes up a bit short.
