The quaint life of Ottavia, a widow living in Rome, is turned upside down when a young and pretty Japanese girl knocks at her door, claiming to be the daughter of her late husband, an Italian military officer who went to Japan on a secret mission during WWII and reportedly killed in action there. At first Ottavia is upset by knowing of her husband's affair in Japan, and suspicious of the girl whose "exotic" habits and manners arouse the curiosity of the whole neighborhood. Pretty soon however Ottavia and her neighbors are conquered by the good-natured Akiko, who soon finds a job as tourist guide (it's the year of the Olympic Games, and tourists are flocking to Rome from everywhere including Japan). But Akiko must beware of young Italian men.

The film tells the true story of French clown Miloud Oukili from his arrival in Romania in 1992 (three years after the fall of Ceausescu) to his encounter with the street children of Bucharest, known as «boskettari» who live in the streets and sleep in Bucharest's sewers, eking a living out of petty crime, begging, and prostitution. Miloud wants to meet these neglected kids, turned into a quasi-feral state by their tragic past and ravaged by physical and sexual abuse and drug addiction, and shine some light in their lives. Although his efforts are at first hampered by corrupt and prejudiced Romanian police officers, Miloud will succeed in creating a real circus company with the «boskettari». The street children will perform in Bucharest’s main square, proving the world that they are not rejects but human beings.

Montreal police officer Renard is shot in the head and seriously wounded while on duty. A fragment of the bullet remains in his head and cannot be removed. As a result of the accident, he remains partially hearing impaired and has to learn to read lips. Several months later he is back on duty, but his chief is quite wary of him, and reluctantly assigns him the case of a very attractive woman who picks the pockets of men lured by her through newspaper ads. He tries to make contact with the pretty thief by answering an ad she placed, but at the meeting point she addresses another man. That gives Renard the chance to see her at work, and to find her whereabouts. But instead of arresting her, he is intrigued by her actions. Her name is Maria and she steals money to finance a play ("Miss Julia" by August Strindberg) to be staged in a city theater where, twenty years before, her mother was killed before her own eyes while rehearsing the main character of the same play. The girl is obsessed by her memories, and Renard too starts to get to know her deeper while studying her moves. When Renard helps her to flee after robbing a man, his chief asks officer l'Amoureux, his former buddy, to keep an eye on him. The day of the prémiere Maria takes the place of the actress who is going to play the leading role, by drugging her. But she doesn't know that in the revolver on stage the same actress put real bullets. Renard cannot hear her but he sees her lips saying "bullets" and takes action in his hands, but...

VICE follows the story of Trimarco, A 17 year old currently serving time at a Washington state youth jail, and whose about to be released on house arrest (along with the majority of the youth in that facility) in light of the dangers of COVID-19.

"Regina Coeli" is the nickname with which inmates call Regina, voluntary assistant in Rome's Rebibbia jail, very involved in solidarity but lonely in his private life. The jail director entrusts her with the task to try re-educating Graziano, a young Sardinian sentenced for a kidnapping of which he always proclaimed himself to be innocent. Regina is way too much mature and lonely not to feel intrigued by the mysterious personality of the illiterate shepherd, who expresses himself only in his almost unintelligible Sardinian dialect.
