Biography

Anja Andersen (a.k.a. Anja Rüegg) is a Norwegian-Swiss actress working in theatre, film, television, and voice acting. She trained at the Zurich University of the Arts and began her career performing at the Schauspielhaus Zürich and the Theater der Jugend in Vienna. After joining Theater Kanton Zürich, she appeared in roles such as Polly in The Threepenny Opera. Andersen has since worked in both German-speaking and Scandinavian regions, including screen-acting training at the Film Academy Baden-Württemberg and studies at the Oslo National Academy of the Arts. Her recent work includes the lead role Lydia Welti-Escher in Lydia - Aufzeichnungen aus dem Irrenhaus.
