  • Mirjam Skal (*1996) is a freelance film composer based in Zurich. Known for blending synthetic textures with orchestral sounds, she has composed scores for documentaries, feature films, and television productions. She has a particular fascination for instruments like the theremin and hurdy gurdy. In 2018, Mirjam received the Taurus Award for Best Film Score at the International Animation Film Festival Geneva, followed by a mentorship with Mychael Danna in 2021, during which she contributed to "Where the Crawdads Sing". Since then, she has been actively working on international TV and film productions, including two Zurich-based Tatort episodes and Jasmin Gordon's debut film, "Les Courageux". In November 2024, she was awarded the Rolf-Hans Müller Prize for Best Film Score at the Televisionale Baden-Baden for her soundtrack to the Tatort episode "Von Affen und Menschen".
