Biography

Businessman, minister of finances and Commission co-president.

He was appointed Director of Debt Management from 1971 to 1977 at the Ministry of Finance where he reorganized the borrowings of CEGEPs, hospitals and universities.

A financial expert who became a politician late in the wake of the failure of the Lake Meech agreement in the early 1990s.

He managed to build a good reputation when he became chairman and CEO of Canada Flooring, a flooring manufacturer, in 1963. He held this position until 1970.

After studying at Sainte-Marie College (which will later be incorporated into UQAM) and at the Hautes Études commerciales, he became a securities broker.
