Karsten Guenther is a German producer and media executive working across streaming, television, film and series production. Since May 2026, he serves as Head of Commissioning Editors & Program Management at ARD Degeto, where he heads up editorial strategy, commissioning, programming strategy, co-productions, licensing and communications for 100 films, series and formats each year. Previously, Karsten Guenther was Producer and Head of Innovation at Bavaria Fiction. His work includes the high-end streaming film "Drive - The Pretenders" for Prime Video / Amazon MGM Studios Germany.
Before focusing on production, commissioning and editorial leadership, Karsten Guenther held leadership roles in the digital division of Axel Springer SE, participated in the Silicon Valley Fellowship, and gained international series development experience at Lionsgate Entertainment in Los Angeles.
Karsten Guenther is a graduate of the University of Television and Film Munich, also known as HFF Munich, one of Germany’s leading film schools.
