Biography

He was a Washington correspondent and award-winning producer for Univision.

He was born in Bogota, Colombia. His family came to the United States when he was a teenager, first to New York and later to the Washington DC area. He worked in a men's clothing store during the day and managed a 7-Eleven at night. He studied history at Antioch College, where a journalism class sparked his interest. He published a small newspaper for the Hispanic community called the Columbian, which he distributed to shops and other venues.
