Biography

John William Reynolds is a Liverpool-based actor and writer with a passion for bold, character-driven comedy and grounded Northern drama. His casting sweet spot lies in high-energy, eccentric, and heartfelt roles - often comic relief with emotional depth - drawing inspiration from Rik Mayall and Monty Python.

His journey into performance began at age 7, volunteering with The Cottage Theatre Company, a Liverpool-based group for adults with disabilities. It was there he discovered the power of storytelling to connect, uplift, and entertain - a principle that continues to guide his work.

As a founding member of the filmmaking troupe Some Guys With A Camera, John is the co-creator and lead of Birchall's Pints, a comedy series blending absurdist humour with a distinctly local heart. He also appears as a scallie in the upcoming feature film Semolina Pilchard. On stage, he's portrayed legendary comedy writer Eddie Braben in Happiness: The Ken Dodd Story and played Bottom in A Midsummer Night's Dream.

John is especially drawn to stories that resonate with Northern, working-class, and LGBTQ+ audiences. Whether through farce, satire, or emotional realism, his goal is always the same: to make people laugh, feel seen, and leave the theatre a little more alive.
